Humm….

Music: In Remembrance of King Rama IX

tribute

As the nation observes one year mourning period, people in music industry keep releasing beautiful songs. Below is neither official nor formal translations, do proceed with care. May edit whenever see fit ^^

” is “9”

*”Sufficient Economy” means to produce enough to use without having to borrow others, be self-sufficient. The word sufficient/enough, if one needs just enough, one will have less greed, once greed is less, one will take advantage of others less. Staying sufficient, one may own a lot, may possess luxurious things, but mustn’t take advantage of others.

*HM royal words during an audience granted to a group coming to express their well-wishes for the King’s birthday – 4 December 2541 B.E.

Lyrics:

We, your children, will follow what you taught, Sufficient Economy…sufficiently need

But our love for you, father, will never be sufficient

Chao Phraya River’s level is probably higher than the time when father sit down watching,

When all tears of Thai citizens come flooding

Feeling jealous of heaven for having you return to

Finally you are now truly rest

Eyes closed, far from all worries

How many mornings more for Thais to weep about the same thing

Sorrow seems to cast its shadow far and beyond

As though it will never end

Other countries may wonder but Thais understand profoundly why

This land, there’s only one man and none anywhere else in the world

*[ The King who walks in the midst of forest mountains

An old camera hanging around his neck, a map in his hand

4,000 Projects, father, you’ve been doing for 70 years

If you are here today, you must still be working

Every good deed you set as example will forever remain in our hearts

Whenever we see your portrait, it will remind us not to give up

We, your children, will follow what you taught, Sufficient Economy…sufficiently need

But our love for you, father, will never be sufficient ]

Repeat [*]

We, your children, will follow what you taught, Sufficient Economy…sufficiently need

But our love for you, father, will never be sufficient

We mourn the passing of His Majesty the King

We mourn the passing of His Majesty the King

We mourn the passing of His Majesty the King

Another song which sang in northeastern dialect. This song was covered by many famous artists. Not expert on northeastern dialect but somewhat familiar so let’s do as such. Any correction needed, feel free to share ^^

Song title: Lao Su Lan Fang

(telling my grandchild)

Staring at the candle lit in front of His Majesty’s portrait

My small grandchild asks what’s the matter, why is uncle crying

Couldn’t wipe my tears away quick enough, how can I tell my grandchild that

Since His Majesty passed away, my heart overwhelmed with tears

My life was born chanting Long Live the King

My Parents would tell it’s the King and pay respect

Thais whole nation His Majesty’s kind influence protected

Hug my grandchild and look at the portrait on the wall

Don’t know when tears come falling

*[ How to say, how to express my love so that father will hear

The sobbing sound of people on earth, will it be heard in heaven

Will do good deeds, stay united as father taught us

It’s the way to express my love, to make merit for father in heaven

Telling my grandchild, express your love loudly by doing good deeds

Loving father this way will help pulling Thai hearts to carry on

What His Majesty worried, he wishes that Thais love one another

If we love him, together we must follow his good deeds ]

-Repeat [*]

If we love His Majesty the King, together we must stay united

Let me do another song, probably this post last one.

Song title: Duay Rak Khong Por

(From father with love)

Does it ever exist, someone who can be everything

Who always closely keeps protecting us and will never stay far

Every time we face difficult time, he is always ready to pull us through

His every minute breathing is only for us

Does it ever exist, someone who deeply endures with his heart

Whatever it takes, for our better future

Someone who will push us to stand up when we break down and try again

That someone does exist and stand not far from us

*[ Love which comes from his heart

Love which shown in his eyes

Love which is greater than love of any kind

Our lives are fortunate to have you, father

Love which we don’t have to ask for, yet given upon us overwhelmingly

Of all great sky and river known

It’s never greater than arms which embrace us

With father’s love ]

For such a long time, father talks by working

Every word of his love, he let us witness it with our eyes

Because you reach out your hands to support us

Whenever our hearts become weary

We will find that there’s someone standing not far from us

-Repeat [*]

Our lives are fortunate to have you, father

Love which we don’t have to ask for, yet given upon us overwhelmingly

Of all great sky and river known

It’s never greater than arms which embrace us

Our lives are fortunate to have you, father

We can smile and don’t give up because we still have your support

Of all great sky and river known

It’s never greater than arms which embrace us

With father’s love
