Humm….

Drama : City Hunter

Sad Run – City Hunter OST

Many months ago I had a chance to join Lee Min Ho’s fan meeting in person myself. At that time, he came with his producer announcing that he’s in the process of transforming himself into the City Hunter.  I remember feeling dismay about the news because the Japanese manga is so popular, we have cherished the manga for so many years we want to continue keeping it that way.

When the first episode was on air,  I turned from aww…to cringe by the end of the hour. Then episode two,  felt like dropping from a war epic movie to a romantic comedy, so sudden that I cringed again.  Then I was no longer care until the OST videos came long, I gave it a try. That scene where Daddy was targeting Nana’s forehead was kind of perked my attention, then Nana shot City Hunter,  followed by Nana fell and City Hunter grabbed her hand, I totally jumped  back  on board and stayed tune till the end.

Lee Min Ho ‘s acting taken me by surprised, again and again, not as a great actor but an unexpected turn. The last episode was  what’s really made me proud. The way he acted, he didn’t make us feel like he’s a hero kind, yunno, like Batman or Superman, but just an ordinary man doing the  job. The more the situation gone worse, the more he became so calm. He was so awesome that when he felt tense or stressful, his voice gone so soft in the face of a clear danger.

The ending of this drama was done so well that I was amazed how at the end the writer managed to put everything back into place in line with the original manga, and the legend lives on. It’s not a perfect drama, but for a hero story to date, it ‘s an amazing job done imo.  I would love to give credit to the original manga writer too, because as I was enjoying the drama I somehow felt the presence of the talented by the Japanese writer.

The music, the cinematography for this kind of story were poignant.  This is my first time feeling so content with the adaptation.  I didn’t worry about the ending of the drama because hundreds of chapters of the manga  were enough to picture ahead that the City Hunter roam the city with Nana besides him always.

Lee Min Ho, the real person,  truth be told, never seen a man on earth this handsome in my entire life and I truly mean it! Rawrrrrr!

Also, the daddy, the prosecutor, Nana and other supporting casts,  played an important part too. And how do I love thee when my favorite song was used to conclude this awesome show.  🙂
